Simulation of the Flowability of Fresh Concrete by Discrete Element Method

The discrete element method (DEM) was used to establish the slump model and J-Ring of concrete describe flow behavior in test test. Then, contact parameters particle-particle particle-geometry for DEM model, including restitution coefficient, rolling friction static surface energy, were measured. In order avoid influence shape size aggregate, this paper high-precision glass spheres as aggregate meso-calibration test, Comparing simulation results with result, a very high agreement between initial stage, rapid slow stage flow–time curve can be found well final flow. Moreover, similar models V-funnel U-channel established study passing ability filling outstanding accuracy. Therefore, JKR adopted fresh concrete.
